Fear Of Failure

Your desire to be great must trump your fear of failure.

Sports become a lot more enjoyable when kids understand that learning from their failures is the only way to get better. For kids feeling pressure to succeed, failing can be the very last thing they want to do. However, as long as we learn how to improve from our mistakes, we never fail in the game.

When players reach an elite level of softball, they will learn how to fail and overcome it. Overcoming setbacks and continuing to compete when you’re down in a game are essential things coaches look for when recruiting. Learning to accept failure as part of your growth is also learning how to overcome adversity.

Playing without the fear of failure allows you to play freely with no fear of taking risks. If you’re scared, you’ll be bad at something new, then you’ll never do it, and you’ll never master it.
